How Drones Can Be Used In Your Business

Drones, or “unmanned aerial vehicles” (UAVs), are the best tool to shoot aerial video and photos in a variety of industries. By definition, a drone is a flying robot that can be remotely controlled or fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans in their embedded systems working in conjunction with onboard sensors and GPS. Drones have been used in many different businesses in the last decade.

Below are a few examples of businesses that can benefit from a drone.

Land Mapping and Surveying: Drones have made it possible to do site surveying more accurately and in less time. Drones can be programmed to fly over hundreds of acres, map elevation changes, locate water and water flow patterns, and even detect the presence of different minerals and resources.

Wedding / Special Events: The best day of your life should be recorded as such. Drones can be used to get aerial shots that were once unobtainable. Imagine having drone footage of the bride’s walk down the aisle or the overhead view of an outdoor concert. Your big events just got more cinematic.

Real Estate: You can create exciting video tours of residential or commercial properties. This is especially useful with properties with areas that are hard to reach by foot. Some exterior home inspections can now be performed with a drone as well, saving inspectors time and energy.

More businesses are finding new ways to utilize drones every day. The list above is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the possibilities. The most captivating aspect of drones will always be how they allow us to go virtually anywhere. Drones allow us to fly and see things from another perspective. Technology is constantly advancing and drones will only continue to become more impressive.

In my experience recording with a business on a worksite, drones can showcase how well a job is done. It’s easy to say “here’s what we do”, but it’s a completely different experience to show someone a video of the work. Aerial videography has the power to turn a viewer into a potential customer. It’s important to take pride in your business and the work you do. Drones offer a professional cinematic view of your business to the world.
